The Right Size Dog For The Job, #1 in a series for self-promotion. I've been kicking this idea around for a couple of years when I mentioned it to David Stuart. I later learned it was his life's ambition to photograph a dwarf, thus another collaborative effort began.
We drove down to rural Perry, Georgia, listening to Hank Williams Jr. in the truck to get in the right frame of mind. The background was shot at a dog kennel, while the talent was photographed in a studio back in Atlanta.
Much of the main compositing and overall palette was created on the fly. David's camera was tethered to his Mac Pro while I processed and built the high res "comp" on set.
Never send in a big dog to do a smalldog's job.
